Coffee shop logo ideas beyond the bean-with-a-swirl
Every strip mall has a bean with steam rising off it. The coffee shops people photograph have marks that feel like the room: the cup, the neighborhood, the ritual. Aim for something a regular would want on a tote bag.
Six directions worth stealing
- The cup silhouette. A geometric cup seen dead-on or from above - the crema circle makes a naturally perfect mark for lids, stamps, and app icons.
- The neighborhood namesake. If you're named after a street, hill, or harbor, draw THAT - a tiny landmark mark owns the local search results and the local hearts.
- The loyalty-stamp monogram. A single sturdy letter built to be rubber-stamped on cards - slightly imperfect edges welcome.
- The roaster's seal. A badge with the roast date ethos: name, city, and one line about the craft, circled. Feels like it belongs on a bag of beans, because it will be.
- The morning wordmark. Lowercase, warm, rounded wordmark - friendly at 7am. Add a steam accent over one letter and stop there.
- The window-decal mark. Design for the glass first: a one-color mark that reads backwards-lit from inside. If it works on a window, it works everywhere.

Sora or Bricolage Grotesque for a modern room; Lora for a cozy one. Keep the body font invisible - Inter always works.
Do
Choose colors that flatter both a white cup and a kraft-paper bag - test on both before you commit.
Don't
Skip the steam swirl unless it's doing something clever. It's the default; you can do better.
